How Do Solar Powered Garden Lamps Work? 1. Solar lamps use bright Light Emission Diodes (LED) for light.2. The LEDs are powered by rechargeable batteries.3. The rechargeable batteries are recharged by sunlight through solar panels.
How Do The Lamps Turn On And Off? A light sensor automatically switches the lamps on when it is dark at night and off when there is light during the day.In a few solar lamps, there is also a dedicated ON / OFF switch that is activated when the lamp is stored or otherwise not in use.

Charging
Do SARABRITE Lamps Need To Be Charged Every Day? What If There Is No Sunlight Due To Bad Weather? No, SARABRITE lamps do not need to be charged everyday. The lamps have hundreds of hours of reserve battery power, enough to light up the lamps for days and even weeks without recharging.
What Are The Charging Requirements? Although SARABRITE lamps do not need to be charged everyday, they do need to be recharged at some point in time. So they need to be installed in a location where it can receive sunlight when the sun shines through. That location must not be blocked by shadows from nearby structures like walls, buildings or plants for at least 4 hours a day. There must also be nothing obstructing sunlight directly overhead.
This does not mean the lamp requires 4 hours of sunlight every sunny day. Even though the lamp is in a four hour window to receive sunlight, the reality is that in those 4 hours, there might be clouds some of the time or even during the entire period. Taking into consideration that on some days there will be a full 4 hours of sunlight and less on other sunny days, on average, a 4 hour window is sufficient. Even in winter.
How Many Days Can SARABRITE Lamps Go Without Recharging? That depends on which country the lamp is installed. Nearer the equator where the nights are not as long as countries that have long winter nights and therefore have more daylight hours, the lamp can go without recharging for up to 20 days.
In countries that have long winter nights, the lamp can go without recharging for up to 40 days.
SARABRITE lamps are engineered so that they will always have sufficient energy to power the lamps at all times.
Batteries
When Do The Batteries Need To Be Replaced? Every 2 to 3 years, depending on operating conditions.
In regions of extreme weather conditions, heat or cold, the batteries can easily manage more than 2 years. Otherwise more than 3 years.
Where Are Replacement Batteries Available?
The most suitable batteries are available from SARABRITE from our website or our retailers. In a pinch, generic lithium batteries will suffice till they can be replaced with genuine SARABRITE batteries.
Why Should Original SARABRITE Batteries Be Used Whenever Possible? 1. There is a wide range of lithium batteries on the market. The types and capacity vary greatly. In our experience, we have come across deceptive capacity labeling very often. It is necessary to use the correct capacity for the lamp to operate properly.2. There are many different types of lithium batteries configurations. It is important to use the correct type. 3. Quality matters. Most devices and their batteries within are used indoors. Solar lamps operate outdoors and often under extreme conditions. So the batteries have to be able to cope with the more demanding circumstances.
